5 minutes to heaven... apparently

Mention the word diet and suddenly your body craves all sorts of sugary treats. With nothing in the house and refusing to just accept the cravings we decided to try the cake in a mug. 30 seconds and one google search later we had our ingredient list and recipe.

We mixed everything together and banged it in the microwave for 3 minutes. And poof we're done. One (well two) chocolate cakes. Mike had the first bite, and loved it. Forgetting that I'd previously nicknamed Mike the rubbish bin, my experience was not as good, but being the picky eater that I am I didn't expect anything else really. I'm thinking that nuked food is not a good choice for me, who'd guessed? haha. On the plus side the cooking process was fun, and I no longer have my sugar cravings (probably due to a burnt tongue.)

  4. I've made them and it was so fun, and very very tasty :D I wrote a blog post about them a while ago, and my cake always ended up being all melted at the bottom. Putting it in the fridge overnight and then putting it in the microwave again seemed to solve that problem though :P xxx

  5. I've never tried making them, but I think your post might've convinced me to give it a try! I'm useless in the kitchen so this could solve my problem when it comes to craving chocolate cake at odd times of the night! :) xx

  7. @Arianne Cruz It did. I was actually quite shocked. It's just a shame that it was a bit rubbery. I think it's time to bake a real cake. x

  12. @haribohats We use chocolate chips but I didn't enjoy it that much. Then again I don't actually like warm cake, maybe if I wait for it to cool down fully first. I may try again. x
